Southport, Fla:
An explosion and fire claims a home Saturday morning.
Officials with the Central Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to the house fire at 6828 Toepfer Blvd. in Southport.
They say four adults were asleep in the home when they were awakened by an explosion.
All four adults and their three dogs managed to escape without injury.
Red Cross officials say the home and two automobiles were totally destroyed, and say the cause of the explosion and fire has not been identified.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary lodging, clothing and food.
