Panama City Beach is coming up with new ways to thank its visitors.  It’s called the REAL. FUN. REWARDS promotion.

The Panama City Beach Tourist and Development Council is teaming up with hotels on the beach to pay visitors cash for their hotel stays.

The promotion runs from July 26th to August 31st.  TDC director Dan Rowe says if visitors stay in a hotel for at least three nights they will get a 50 dollar American Express gift card. If visitors stay at least four nights they get a 100 dollar gift card.  Five nights gets visitors 200 bucks.

Half of the funds for the rewards are coming from the TDC.  The other half will come from the hotel visitors chose to stay at.

Rowe says the threat of oil hitting the beaches is keeping some people away from the area. He says this new promotion is a good way to thank people who still come vacation in Panama City Beach.
It is a solid way to help area hotels too.

“This is a new way for them to get new reservations with a minimum of a three night stay,” Rowe said. “We’re in the middle of August. So, to give someone some spending money during their stay is a great incentive. We think it will really catch on.”

People who want to qualify for the promotion can start making reservations on July 26th. Any reservations made prior that date do not qualify.

To find a list of participating hotels, condos and resorts, log onto www.visitpanamacitybeach.com.  Rowe says the best way to make a reservation is through that website or to call the hotels directly. He says that is the best way to guarantee a person will receive the promotion.
