The Panama City Police Department announces the arrest of Richard Alan Hartley, 21 years of age, Walter Andrew Tate, 18 years of age and Joseph Michael Menck, 16 years of age.
Hartley is being charged with Burglary of an Unoccupied Dwelling, Dealing in Stolen Property, and Uttering Forged Bills. Tate is being charged with Principle to Burglary, Dealing in Stolen Property and Uttering Forged Bills. Menck is being charged with Burglary and Dealing in Stolen Property.
On March 3, 2010 a burglary occurred at a residence on Lake Avenue. The victim of that burglary filed a report with the Panama City Police Department and an investigation was initiated.
During the course of the investigation leads were developed that led to the above mentioned persons being suspects in the case. Detectives with the Panama City Police Department conducted an investigation that uncovered information that led to property in a burglary case that occurred in Lynn Haven and counterfeit currency.
The Lynn Haven Police Department and the United States Secret Service were notified and joined in the investigation, that resulted in the above-mentioned charges being filed. During the course of this investigation many additional items, such as cameras, Ipods, Ipod accessories and DVD’s and CD’s were recovered.
Those items are believed to have been stolen in other burglaries and we are attempting to identify the owners of the property. Further charges are expected to be filed in this case. The above-mentioned defendants were arrested without incident on March 9, 2010.
