Reports cards go out on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. But, the Bay school district has made a valuable tool available to parents, which allows more frequent tracking of student information.

Parents are encouraged to sign up for Parent Portal, a useful tool that allows parents to view several types of information regarding student progress – grades, attendance, discipline, test scores, schedules and other details that are critical to student success. Parents will have access, and at the same time there are measures in place that ensure a high level of security that protects student privacy.

Parents can register online anytime during the regular school year. After signing up at www.bay.k12.fl.us, parents then make an appointment at the school of each child where they will show identification. Following approval through the safety process, the account(s) will be activated.

According the David Smith, Director of Bay District Schools Information Services, “Every effort has been made to ensure that the application functions with most computers, software and browsers that are sold commercially.”
