Panama City, Fla:
Each year around the holiday season, people tend to think about ways to enhance the lives of others. Children are the focus of many charitable campaigns, but they aren’t the only ones in need.
Currently, the “be a Santa to a senior” holiday gift giveaway is in full swing. The goal is to bring cheer to our local older adults.
Gifts are already arriving at the Home Instead Senior Care office in Panama City.
If you want to become part of the program, it is as easy as picking an ornament while shopping at your area Wal-mart. Dee Dee Bilancini of Home Instead Senior Care tells us, “You just take the ornaments, buy the items on there, put them on a bag with a tag and turn them in at the service desk at Wal-mart.”
Marsha Carlisle adds, “We are on beasantatoasenior.com. It tells you where all the trees are and exactly what to do.”
The program continues through Monday December 14th. You can pick up an ornament at the Wal-marts in Panama City Beach, Tyndall Parkway and Lynn Haven.
Volunteers and the 325th civil engineering squadron of Tyndall Air Force Base will wrap and distribute the gifts.
