Panama City Fire Fighters are once again called the former office of local Attorney, Sister Martha Blackmon-Milligan to fight a fire.
Beach Drive was closed for a time Monday evening between Florida Avenue and Business 98, as fire fighters worked the scene. It took about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
According to the Panama City Fire Department the building, now owned by George Kingston, has about 30% of the interior damaged by fire, and smoke damage throughout.
The State Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate what could have caused the fire.
Milligan moved out of the office in November 2007, after a space heater left unattended caught fire and damaged most of the building. According to records from the Property Appraisers Office, she then sold the building in May 2008.
The property has also been the center of a recent dispute involving surveillance video recorded by State Attorney Steve Meadows. You can read more about the dispute here.
