Bay County elected a new Property Appraiser, Tuesday night. Dan Sowell unofficially won the race by 1,100 votes.
Dan Sowell - 40%
Jim Kochevar - 36%
Sowell was back to work Wednesday. He currently serves as Assistant Chief Deputy. Soon, he’ll assume the responsibility of more than 112,000 Bay County properties. After 20 years at the Appraiser’s Office, Sowell says his dream has finally come true. Sowell officially becomes Property Appraiser January 6, 2009.

Bay County residents say they want change, then elect someone that’s been with the office 20 years. Where’s the reason in that.
