During these tough economic times things can be extremely difficult when it comes to making ends meet. This also goes for non profit organizations that are especially feeling the pressures of dealing with the economy.
The Boys and Girls Club of Bay County is one of those facing hardships by having to deal with budget cuts due to lack of funds.
The Club, with three locations in Bay County, serves anywhere from 400 to 600 kids a day depending on the time of the year.
The Club has had to reduce full and part time staff hours as just a part of it’s budget cuts. To overcome the obstacles facing them, the Boys and Girls Club asks for not only donations, but people who can volunteer their time as well. The Club also relies heavily on fundraisers throughout the year.
The next big event is the Rockin’ For The Young’uns fundraiser. It’s Puttin’ On The Ritz Gala, an evening of roaring 20’s style glamour. The event is set for Saturday, May 16th at the Boardwalk Beach Resort in Panama City Beach.
For ticket information and other information concerning how you can assist with volunteering your time or services or contributing in other ways during these economic struggles, phone the Boys and Girls Club of Bay County at 763-2076.
