Bay County, Fla:

Candidates for superintendent faced off again this morning and this time, instead of trying to impress voters, they’re trying to impress your kids.

Today at Rutherford High School, the ComTech Academy hosted a forum where students were in charge and got to ask the questions.  Steve George, Bill Husfelt and James McCalister answered questions about their positions on food choices and closed campuses.  But, the hot topic for high school students was dress code and whether or not the new superintendent would enforce or change the policy.

Husfelt and McCalister said they wouldn’t be opposed to minor changes like allowing students to have different colored belts, untucked shirts or school colored hoodies.  George commented that he was in favor of the policy because it provided additional safety for students and showed compassion to students that could not afford expensive clothes.
