Walton County, Fla:
Thursday morning in Walton County court, Dannie Roy Baker, 60, was declared incompetent to stand trial. A competency exam was ordered during the last pre-trial hearing in August and the results were filed in late October.
Baker is charged in the deaths of two Chile students, Racine Balbontin Argandona and Nicholas Pablo Corp Torress, that were working in Walton County here on work visas. Three other Chile students were injured.
The shootings happened around 2:00 a.m. on February 26, 2009 at the Summer Lake Town Home Development on Scenic Gulf Road. Authorities say 14 friends were gathered at the home when Baker, a neighbor, fired shots in the window.
Baker was indicted in March on two counts of first degree premeditated murder with a firearm, three counts of attempted first degree murder with a firearm and one count of shooting into a building.
The State Attorney’s Office was seeking the death penalty in the case but now Baker may never go to trial. Baker will be taken to the Florida State Hospital where he will continue to be evaluated by their forensic unit.

If this clod has gotten off with murder by some low-life lawyer, then he should at least spend the rest of his natural life locked up in an institution where he belongs. If he’s too incompetent to stand trial then he’s incompetent to be left running lose among the general population!
