Bay County, Fla:
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary call at about 2:30 this morning, February 2, 2010, at Coin and Bullion at 2621 E. 15th Street in Panama City.
When deputies arrived they discovered someone had made entry into the business by throwing a concrete block through the glass on the front door. A display case had also been broken and more than ten thousand dollars in merchandise was missing.
Investigators and Crime Scene from the Criminal Investigations Division responded and conducted a thorough evaluation of the scene. Found just a short distance from Coin and Bullion was a rare silver bearer bond. As a result of finding this item from the store, it is believed that the suspect must have fled southeast along East Avenue.
The burglary was captured by security video cameras in the store. The suspect appears to be a black male, about 5’9” and wearing a black hooded sweat jacket with the hood up and white canvas pants. The suspect broke the glass, entered, took the items, and left within 45 seconds.
Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to call Inv. Robbie Newsome at the Bay County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
