Traffic Crash Impacts Hwy 98 Traffic in Destin

As of 2:50 p.m. today, a traffic crash at 36000 Emerald Coast Parkway (Highway 98) in Destin has led to the temporary closure of eastbound lanes in the vicinity of Regions Way. Eastbound traffic is being diverted to Scenic Highway.

All four lanes will be closed long enough for a medical helicopter to land and pick up one patient to be transported to Pensacola. Once that is accomplished, the westbound lanes will re-open. The eastbound lanes in that area will remain closed however until further notice.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is on scene and asks motorists to use patience and courtesy while the crash, which involved a car and a motorcycle, is investigated.
