Walton County, Fla:
DeFuniak Springs, FL – Numerous counties throughout northwest Florida are auctioning off surplus cars, trucks, trailers, John Deere construction equipment and numerous industrial items on Thursday, May 21, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Walton County Fairgrounds in DeFuniak Springs. Funds collected from the sale of items will return to the taxpayers of the county where the item originated.
Many of the cars being auctioned are former police cars, and several utility trailers once used by public works crews are also on the auction block. Boats and kayaks are among the many items once used by government agencies which the highest bidder may purchase. One fire truck is up for sale, as well as a dental bus.
Citizens must check in on arrival to the Walton County Fair Grounds to register and obtain a bid number. Dealers are required to bring their tax ID information. All items sold are sold “As Is,” with any and all faults. No warranties or representations are made by either the seller or auctioneer as to condition, operability, merchantability, or fitness for any purpose. All sales are final.
The auction is being handled by a company called First Coast Auction (www.firstcoastauction.com). For more information and a complete list of items being auctioned, go to www.co.walton.fl.us.
