Woman Charged With Trying to Sneak in Drugs in Prison

A South Florida woman was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly trying to bring drugs to an inmate in prison.

Delores Parks Haston Blanca, 49, of Hobe Sound, is charged with introduction of contraband into a state facility, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the complaint filed against Blanca, she allegedly concealed “approximately 40 grams of marijuana and 29 Roxicodone pills in her person” Saturday, and entered Apalachee Correctional Institute.

She was there to visit an inmate and pass the drugs on to him, according to the affidavit.

The Department of Corrections Inspector General’s office had been monitoring phone calls in reference to the attempted transaction, according to the complaint.

Blanca was detained and, while in a Sneads Police Department patrol car, allegedly “retrieved the package out of her person and placed it under the back seat” of the vehicle, the complaint stated.
