The Franklin County EOC is at a level 2 activation or partial activation. They say they are geared up and ready to go should they need to do a full activation. They are currently waiting for a 10:15 a.m. eastern conference to make further determinations.
EOC Director, Pamela Brunell, says they are most concerned about the potential rainfall should the storm stall over our area for an extended period. She says not long ago the area received 12 inches of rain from a regular storm and that caused flooding in some homes.
They are working on placing sand bags on Alligator Point Road and have the road department there working now. They will be keeping a close eye on the storm surge for possible flooding problems in that area.
