Public H1N1 Swine Flu Vaccinations Begin Anew in January

Beginning January 5, the Walton County Health Department will be offering free H1N1 vaccination for all interested persons.  Walk-in clinics will be conducted at the DeFuniak Springs main facility every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and at the Coastal facility every Wednesday from 9AM – 4PM.  No appointment is necessary; however, both clinic locations will be closed from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for lunch.  If preferred, appointments are available through our regular immunization clinics.

The most effective precaution to fight influenza is getting vaccinated.  Some of the Walton County H1N1 vaccine allocation has been provided to local physicians, pharmacies and hospitals participating in the H1N1 vaccination program.

The site is called ‘Medtipster’ and, on the homepage, you can just click the Flu Shot Locater button and follow the simple directions. Also, the site enables you to locate low-cost, generic prescriptions from pharmacies in your area. Google search “Medtipster” and check it out.
