Power Outages
According to Jeff Rogers, spokesperson for Gulf Power Company, a total of 4,600 people were without power at some point during the night.
Of those, 1,200 were located in Walton and Bay counties, while 2,400 more were located in Washington, Holmes and Jackson counties.
Currently, there are less than 100 people in Bay and Walton County combined without power and less than 250 people in the Washington, Holmes and Jackson counties combined without power.

Bay County

Bay County Schools are open Wednesday.  Students who do not attend school or who are tardy due to weather conditions will have excused absences if their parents notify the schools using proper procedures.

Gulf County

Gulf County Emergency Management would like to notify residents and property owners in low lying areas of Gulf County should flash flood conditions a rise you may to evacuate The Honeyville Community Center. This shelter is located at 240 Honeyville Park Drive, off of Highway 71.

Homeowners should also be prepared to take any precautions and protective actions in the event that their area is impacted by flooding conditions.
Please use extreme caution when driving many roads is currently underwater.

Avenue A and Highway 98 in Port St. Joe are unpassable due to water over the road way.

Franklin County

Franklin County Schools will re-open on Thursday. The voluntary evacuations of low lying areas has been rescinded, including Alligator Point. A high surf advisory remains in effect utill 6 a.m. CST Thursday morning

Washington County

The Washington County EOC says they are very busy.  The entire City of Vernon is without power, including the public works department for Washington County.  There are reports of roof leaks at the government annex.  They also have reports of downed power lines.

Road closures in Washington County include:
Ledger Road @ 1660 Ledger Rd under water. Barricades at Location
Ben Road Under water. Barricaded
Wrights Creek Rd. Just this side of Holms County line, road is being undermined by water. Public Works is currently working on this issue to try to keep the road open. As of 10:45AM crews still working. Will update this road soon!

Walton County

At this time, there have been “no” reports of injuries, or structural damage due to the frontal system in advance of a cold front moving in from the west.  Beginning around 6:15 this morning, Walton County’s Emergency Operation’s Center has received calls on several minor issues.

A tree across the road on Walton County Road 181, about two miles East of Highway 83 north of DeFuniak Springs.  In addition, a downed tree caused several traffic delays on Forest Shore Drive in the San Destin area in South Walton County.

Early this morning, there were reportedly two places under water near the intersection of State Highway 2 and U.S. 331, a few miles south of Paxton.  The Walton County EOC reports that all the aforementioned issues have been handled, and county work crews continue to monitor the roads and bridges looking for any obstructions, or damage.
