I haven’t even had the time to read but part of what “gator” & “oldman” have posted, because I too have been out of pocket, having to deal with the thought of losing my own child….. I really cant even begin to understand your lack of compassion….. GATOR: All I really want to say is, maybe the reason why your so mad and backing “GP” is because maybe you’re the one who had to hang the signs as part of your job, hey maybe it was your negligence!  3 people lost their lives that night, and a piece of everyone that even knew them went with them!  I asked before if you had children, never got an answer, but if YOUR young son or daughter… you know once they get a little older and can drive, and maybe they too loose their lives as a result of negligence of “GP”... would you want justice???  YOUR IGNORANCE IS BEYOND ME!!! As requested this will be my last post here out of respect for the peoples families, i am sorry for the loss you have all suffered and wouldn’t wish it on anyone but maybe Gator. To those of you who have made such negative remarks about Gina and Sammy and their friend Josh and the intentions of the Redmon Family, I’ll say it again…I really hope one day you are the first person ever to have a teenager/young adult who NEVER makes questionable decisions.  If so, I can’t wait to be first in line to congratulate you.  Since this is the real world however…I really hope you don’t instead find yoursel eating your words when this is your family and your family name being slandered.  Because I for one, can tell you that it is hurtful.  But if you do find yourself on the other side of the fence I hope you learn a lesson about the first person to cast the stone…

i agree the family of the 3 that passed, deserve all the respect in the world. heck even the 3 that passed deserve respect. but do you want to live your life or do you really think anyone wants to live their lives waiting for a sign? it doesnt take a sign for something to be dangerous. god gave you a brain, use it!!!

Do u think that if there had been a sign posted that said WARNING WATER DANGEROUS they would have gone near that water anyways? No they weren’t thick people which is the way you are making them out to me. They weren’t stupied. If they had been warned about what was there waiting they would never have gone. Its not like they had a death wish. I mean one of them had a child on the way. GP should have made sure that any area that could have been accessed by the public had secure warning signs letting the public kno of the danger. Who cares that they do now. They didn’t then. For all we know one of them could have fallen in by accident and then the others jumped in afterwards to try and save them but then they all drowned no one knows for 100% that they were actually SWIMMING there that night. no ones knows 100% that anyone was DRUNK or on DRUGS which is what u have been referring too. Yeah they went out there and maybe they knew they shouldn’t have been maybe they didn’t at the end of the day GULF POWER is RESPONSIBLE for what happened. Okay, First of all…this family was not looking for a payout.  They were looking for accountability on behalf of a company that was negilent and as a result of that negligence played a part in the loss of two young lives.In our society that means litigation and financial loss on behalf of Gulf Power, who from the start of this process has been reprenhensible. To fault the family for doing what is well within their rights to do is unfounded.

Secondly, any comparisons to the Martin Lee Anderson case are ridiculous.  This family has been waiting for this trial for SIX years - the Anderson case is three years old, and that payout came even after the lives of the officers involved were completely torn apart. They got their day in court and then some.  This family did not get their day in court, and it is owed them.

I know this family, and this is not about money.  This is about someone taking some responsibilty and saying “We’re sorry”, and we won’t let it happen again.

ok here we go again, sorry for the family that had to go thru the pain of losing these people. BUT the people that decided to go swimming in that ditch, it is their fault. they were either drunk or worse, their thoughts were clouded due to their choices. they werent some inncoent baby that happened to wonder up, and fell in. i have been going out there since i was a kid and not ever once have i thought hey i wanna take a swim?

oldman, isnt it amazing that when they start losing an argument they start name calling? they cant win so the next best thing is to call you this or that. and most important thing of all, oldman and i arent the only ones telling whomever they are wrong, the judge kicked it out so he must be all the things youve been calling us too? the signs are up and the family should get nothing else but sympathy.
